Team RIID Attends ASM Microbe Conference

What a great crew! Team RIID wrapped up the ASM Microbe conference June 15-19, 2023, in Houston, Texas, with 11 posters, 2 invited talks, and many new contacts.

Our Bacteriology Division staff presented orion ginal scientific data concerning medical countermeasures to protect the Warfighter against bacterial diseases such as plague, tularemia, and melioidosis. Read all the meeting abstracts at this link.

Dr. Kevin Mlynek and Ms. Ashley Babyak were selected to give oral presentations, and all team members spent time at the USAMRIID exhibit booth–a great forum for communication with other scientists and potential partners.

Outreach activities like these help us to recruit new talent and develop new research endeavors that could lead to new funded projects to meet U.S. Department of Defense priorities.
