Sergeant Major Todd J. Brenecki

Sergeant Major Todd J. Brenecki entered the U.S. Army in September 2003. He completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Benning, GA, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sam Houston, TX, and Fort Jackson, SC, where he distinguished himself as a Medical Laboratory Specialist.
SGM Brenecki's previous assignments include serving as a Medical Laboratory Specialist for the 801st Brigade Support Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment (CURRAHEE) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, during which he deployed to Camp Rustamiyah, Iraq, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He subsequently served as a Medical Laboratory NCO and Squad Leader at the Heidelberg Medical Department Activity (MEDDAC) in Germany, and as an Army Healthcare Recruiter at the 1st Medical Recruiting Battalion in Fort Meade, MD. He later served as a Senior Medical Laboratory NCO and Platoon Sergeant at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID), Fort Detrick, MD.
His subsequent leadership and staff assignments include Sexual Assault Response Coordinator at the Asymmetric Warfare Group, Fort Meade, MD; Senior Health Care NCO in G-3/5/7 and Operations Sergeant Major at the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command at Fort Detrick, MD; and USAMRIID HHC First Sergeant. Most recently, he served as the Chief Medical NCO at USA MEDDAC, Fort Stewart, GA and at the United States Army Medical Materiel Agency, Fort Detrick, MD.
SGM Brenecki's military education includes the United States Army Sergeants Major Course (Class 74), Company Commander and First Sergeant Pre-Command Course, Master Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, and Warrior Leader Course. He has also completed specialized training, including the Medical Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties Course, Sexual Assault Response Coordinator/VA Career Course, Field Management of Chemical and Biological Casualties Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, Field Identification of Biological Warfare Agents Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Army Health Care Recruiting Course, Small Arms Maintenance Course, and Defense Basic Preservation and Packing Course. His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Saint Joseph's College of Maine and an Associate in Laboratory Science from George Washington University.
His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (1 Silver Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (1 Silver, 1 Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Good Conduct Medal (7th Award), Armed Forces Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (2 Campaign Stars), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), and Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 2). He has also earned the Air Assault Badge, Drivers Badge-W, Recruiter Badge, and the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (Silver). SGM Brenecki is a proud member of the Order of Military Medical Merit.
